Real Estate Agents Lunch and Learn

Real Estate Agents Lunch and Learn

On Friday, December 8, 2018, fifteen (15) real estate agents enjoyed lunch, two speakers, a trolley tour in the Old West End, and visits to three available homes.  Sponsored by our friends at Movement Mortgage (who provide renovation financing), the purpose of this event was for agents to learn more about the many exciting changes happening here.

Lunch was held in the W. F. Patton House, an 1890 mansion on Millionaires’ Row.  The speakers were Ernecia Coles, Executive Director of the Danville Neighborhood Development Corporation (standing at right), and Renee Burton, Project Manager for the City of Danville.  Ernecia spoke to revitalizing neighborhoods by renovating and constructing homes, apartments, and commercial spaces.  Renee talked more specifically about the Old West End and the process for acquiring and making properties available for new neighborhood residents.

The trolley tour included Holbrook Avenue, Green Street, Jefferson Avenue, and Pine Street with information provided about work underway.  Particular note was made of the new Old West End National Historic District banners gracing the neighborhood.  Stops were made  at 838 Green Street, 241 Jefferson Avenue, and 871 Pine Street – homes ranging from immediately livable to full interior rehab needed.
