During the time that Danville prospered from the local tobacco and textile industries, this area near the Sutherlin Mansion was a magnet for the wealthy elite. Completed between 1885 and 1910, each mansion has its own unique style ranging from Italianate to Gothic to Queen Anne and Richardsonian Revival.
